Planning an HMI swap
Match the obvious first: screen size and resolution. A same-size panel with the same resolution reuses the cut-out and renders the project pixel-for-pixel. A different size forces resolution scaling in the project software and a new cut-out in the door — possible, but it turns a two-hour swap into a two-day job with panel rework.
Then check the ports and the software. The panel must have the same interfaces your machine uses — Ethernet, RS-232 / RS-422 / RS-485, USB, and any slot cards. And the project file must open in the software generation the new panel runs: GOT projects need the right GT Designer generation, Comfort panels need WinCC, and a project last saved years ago sometimes needs a two-step conversion. Find the project backup and its software version before the old panel dies, not after.
Plan for backlight life. Most “dead” HMIs are dim or failed backlights; if the touch layer still registers input, the panel boots and only the image is dark. Note the rated backlight hours when you buy the replacement — on lines running three shifts, backlight life is the real lifecycle cost.
HMI selection questions
Can I replace an HMI with a different screen size?
Yes, but the project must be re-scaled in the OEM software and the door cut-out re-machined, which turns a quick swap into a panel job. Same size and resolution is always the fast path — the project renders pixel-for-pixel and the existing gasket and cut-out are reused. Check the cut-out drawing and the mounting clamps before ordering; we can send the dimension drawing for any panel listed here.
What do I need to reload my project onto a replacement panel?
Three things: the project file (and a backup of the current one uploaded from the old panel while it still boots), the matching OEM software generation — GT Designer for GOT, WinCC for Comfort panels, the Delta / Omron / Inovance screen editors for their families — and the transfer path: USB, serial cable or the Ethernet settings baked into the project. If the project was last edited years ago, budget time for a software-version conversion.
Are these original panels or compatible replacements?
Every HMI on this page is a generic aftermarket compatible replacement, NOT an original OEM product. Brand names and model numbers are the property of their owners and are used only to state what each panel replaces. Panels are matched by size, resolution and port set, inspected before shipment, and carry our 12-month warranty as seller — InverterPLC is an independent supplier, not an authorised distributor of any brand named here.
How long is the lead time, and do you ship to Southeast Asia?
Every unit is procured per order. We confirm the exact lead time at quotation — typically 1 to 3 weeks — and state it in writing before you pay. We ship by DHL / FedEx / UPS express to Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines and Singapore, and by sea or air freight for consolidated orders.
