PLC Modules — Compact, Modular & Motion

14 PLC models across 7 brands: compact brick controllers for single-machine panels, modular CPUs for stations that grow, and Yaskawa machine controllers for multi-axis motion. All are generic compatible replacements built to the same mounting and terminal layout, so most swaps drop straight onto the existing rail. Filter by brand or search a model number below, and read the selection notes if you are not sure which controller family your panel needs.

Compact PLCs & Micro Controllers

Brick-style controllers with onboard I/O — FX3U / FX5U, DVP-ES2, TM221, CPU 1214C and the CP1E class. The default choice for single-machine control, retrofit panels and simple stations where the I/O count is known and stable.

Modular & Mid-range CPUs

Rack and slice CPUs with configurable I/O — MELSEC Q, S7-1500, NX102, Modicon M251 / M262, H5U. For stations that expand, need fast fieldbus comms, or replace a failed mid-range rack.

Machine Controllers

Yaskawa MP-series machine controllers for multi-axis coordination, electronic cams and tables that would need add-on motion modules on a general-purpose PLC. Check the programming environment before ordering.

How to pick the right PLC

Compact controllers carry fixed onboard I/O and are sized by counting points: digital in, digital out (relay for mixed loads, transistor for fast or high-frequency duty), analog channels, and the power supply class (24 VDC vs 100–240 VAC). If your panel runs one machine and the I/O count is stable, a compact CPU is the cheaper and faster swap.

Modular CPUs let you match the I/O card by card. When replacing one, note the exact CPU order number, the rack / bus type, and which option cards (Ethernet, fieldbus, positioning) are installed — the base CPU is only half the part number story. A same-family CPU swap keeps the program and wiring; a family change means re-engineering both.

Machine controllers sit between PLC and CNC: they are chosen for motion performance, not logic. Before ordering, confirm the motion software version your programs were written in, because projects rarely port across major versions. Whatever the family, keep a verified program backup before you power down the old CPU — most swap downtime is lost programs, not lost hardware.

PLC selection questions

Can I replace a failed PLC CPU with a different model in the same family?

Usually yes within the same family — an FX3U for another FX3U, or a CPU 1214C for the same order number. The risk points are firmware-dependent instructions and option-card compatibility: a project written for a newer firmware may not run on an older revision of the same CPU. We confirm the exact order number and firmware requirement at quotation before you pay, so the program uploads without surprises.

What should I check before ordering a replacement PLC module?

Five things: the exact CPU order number on the label; I/O count and type (relay vs transistor outputs, voltage class); power supply (24 VDC or 100–240 VAC); communications (onboard Ethernet / RS-485 or an option card); and whether a program backup exists. Send us a photo of the nameplate and the rail, and we check all five before quoting.

Are these original PLCs or compatible replacements?

Every PLC on this page is a generic aftermarket compatible replacement, NOT an original OEM product. Brand names and model numbers are the property of their owners and are used only to state what each unit replaces. Units are built to the same mounting dimensions and terminal layout, are inspected before shipment, and carry our 12-month warranty as seller — InverterPLC is an independent supplier, not an authorised distributor of any brand named here.

Can you help migrate the program from the old PLC?

We supply hardware, not programming services — but we size the replacement so your existing project works. For a like-for-like swap, the program uploads straight from your backup. For a family change (for example a discontinued CPU with no direct successor), send us the old and new part numbers and we will flag the differences that affect the project before you commit.

How long is the lead time, and do you ship to Southeast Asia?

Every unit is procured per order. We confirm the exact lead time at quotation — typically 1 to 3 weeks — and state it in writing before you pay. We ship by DHL / FedEx / UPS express to Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines and Singapore, and by sea or air freight for consolidated orders.

Listing note: Original = genuine part sourced to order by InverterPLC as an independent seller; we are not an authorised distributor of any brand named here, and the 12-month warranty is ours as seller. Compatible = generic aftermarket replacement, NOT an original OEM product; brand names are used only to state the part each unit replaces. Every unit is procured per order — lead time is confirmed at quotation, typically 1–3 weeks.
